Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay Brodie was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Her family was part of the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative writing talents as well as her remarkable research skills to creating the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945, entitled"No Man is able to know My History. It's a name derived from a funeral speech delivered by Joseph Smith. The speech claimed: "You weren't acquainted with me, and you didn't know my heart. There is no one who knows my past. It's impossible for me to reveal it. I wrote the 29-year old Fawn in that moment of candor at least three-score writers have stepped up to the plate. A lot of them have denigrated him and some have praised him, a couple have even tried their hand at diagnosing him clinically. It's not because the records aren't complete, but rather they're fiercely contradictory. It is up to us to separate the first hand account from the third hand plagiarism as well as to match Mormons' narratives with non-Mormons in a coherent history. It's exciting and interesting. Fawn brodie was a professional dedicated to the task. Her writings and research helped bring her international fame: Thaddeus Stephens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974) as well as Richard Nixon.
